Ashley and Alex, 5.25.07

Ashley and Alex are one of those couples that are disgustingly perfect! They are both very successful attorney's, they are both totally gorgeous and they are just about the nicest people you will ever meet! Don't worry, I'm not the only person who feels this way - it was the theme of the toasts! Ashley and Alex also had a small, intimate wedding at the Pepperdine Chapel in Malibu and the reception was at Geoffrey's. I really had an amazing time photographing this wedding. Both Ashley and Alex's families were so sweet and Ashley and Alex were just great models. I think that photo of Ashley in the red flowers is one of my favorites of this year! Doesn't it look like a 70's album cover? Also, when Ashley met with me, she was saying "Oh, I have no artistic ability at all". Totally not true! All the little details from the flower arrangements to the table settings to her dress and accessories were just lovely and in great taste! Ashley, you are too modest!

Jessica and Christian, 5.20.07

Jessica and Christian are totally cool. They got married at the Oviatt Penthouse (one of my favorite venues) and they had a super hip, intimate wedding ceremony. When we first met, we realized that we had all lived in Bloomington, Indiana at one time (they went to school there, I fell in love!). Jessica mentioned to me on the phone before the wedding that photos of the food were really important to her. Her coordinator, Courtney from Joyful Weddings and Events, told me that day that she actually has a food blog! How cool. Of course, the food was AMAZING. She had really funky appetizers, and a FABULOUS hamburger bar and the dessert table speaks for itself! Anyway, Derek and I had a great time photographing this wedding as both Jessica and Christian and their families are so cool. And I have to mention - I was obsessed the whole day with Christian's IPOD playlist.
Thank you, Christian, for making me a copy of it. A lot of those songs will be on the playlist for the birth!

Laura and Will's Wedding, 5.19.07

You might have remembered Laura and Will's engagement shoot that I got to do in NYC. Well, here they are on their wedding day! I had a feeling that this would be an incredibly beautiful wedding and I had Heather Kincaid and Josh Goodman both with me so we were sure to get lots of the amazing details. The wedding took place at Laura's parents estate in Palos Verdes and Good Gracious Events were the caterers and coordinators. The house and grounds were incredibly beautiful and Good Gracious did a fabulous job of making this plot of land into the most incredible wedding venue you have ever seen! The coctail hour was around the pool, the ceremony was in the rose garden, and they set up a fabulous tent for the reception. Anyway, Heather and Josh and I were all blown away with how gorgeous it was. We had fun photographing all day, but the party REALLY got going in the evening. Oh my God, the groomsmen were crazy! This is the first wedding, where I can safely say, that EVERYONE was on the dance floor. It was a blast. And, of course, it didn't end at the reception. There was a fabulous afterparty at the pool which lasted till God knows how long! Oh, and yes, they are cutting a steak and potato grooms cake! How fabulous.

Baby Zachary!!!

Well, you saw Marcy's pregnancy photos about a month ago. And here he is....Baby Zachary (otherwise known as Baby Z!) I had a fabulous day, driving out to Corona where Mark, Marcy and Zachary now reside. Past all the cow farms (don't want to ponder that too much!)....they have a beautiful house in a new development and the vibe was just so peaceful. No phones, no craziness. I hope our house is so peaceful when ours is born. Anyway, it doesn't hurt that Zachary is absolulely adorable. He was awake when I got there, so I snapped quickly. Then we had lunch....and snapped some more. It was such a fun afternoon hanging with this new family. Hey guys, don't you think you need pro photos of him, like every week!!! ;-)
