Mita and Jeegar's Wedding

Well......as you can see from the photos this was an absolutely beautiful, soulful, exciting and wondrous Indian Wedding that I don't know if I could even describe in words. The bride rode in on a gondola, the was transported on the sholders of guests for close to a mile and the party was WILD! (Mita is a friend of Shefali and Chris whose wedding I photographed last summer. Now Shefali has a big belly! She's due in December!) Anyway, it was an honor to photograph this wedding. A couple of things I should mention. First of all, I got to try all sorts of Indian food that I've never even seen before (and I've been to India). Poor Mita is going to have to go through this with me when she picks up her photos!), - the buttermilk for the morning ceremony was amazing. Secondly, as Mita and Jeegar were getting ready for the reception, Jeegar realized that he had forgotten his pants. (O.K. - the poor guy had like 6 different outfits he had to wear over the 4 day extravaganza, he's human). Just so you all know, the bride realized that I was wearing black pants and of course I obliged to lend him my pants! There I was, in the room with no pants but a towel! Mita's best friend lent me a skirt, but in the end, Jeegar got other pants so I got mine back. See, I'm very flexible (and for the record, I don't usually take off my clothes in the bride and groom's room)....but this was hilarious! My husband Jimmy, came down to help me with my equitment at the end of the night and he could not get over how amazing all the dancing was. Mita's brother suprised her with this amazing dance. He is this total hot eligible bachelor, gals. Very fun person! Anyway, Mita and Jeegar are just a blast. Mita is hilarious. She was laughing so hard with Oscar the makeup person when I first arrived everyone thought they were stoned (they were not, for the record)....that is just how fun Mita is!

Now this is fun!

O.K.....My best friend Jenny is having a baby and she's a total ham. I really couldn't do this with most people but because I'm throwing the baby shower (the first I've ever thrown)....I had this concept for the invite. Well, of course, Jenny was game. See, this is why we've been friends since we've been 3 years old. I just love her outfit with the pink pail (her creation) and I love this totally cheezy lighting for the setting!

Jennifer and Dave's Windy Wedding, August 27th 2006

These ladies just couldn't miss the action!

The weird bamboo things

If you want to have wedding at the beach, just remember - it can be REALLY WINDY....REALLY REALLY WINDY! And such was the beautiful wedding of Jennifer and Dave. I actually love wind as I find it totally dramatic.....but perhaps a little too dramatic when you're walking down the aisle and your hair is down! Jennifer and Dave got married at the Sunset in Malibu, a beautiful venue where you can get married right on the public beach and then walk over to the restaurant. It's really quite lovely. This was a modern Jewish wedding with a really beautiful Kattubah and a pretty kick ass hoorah. Jen was an incredibly mellow and relaxed bride and her hubby is the same way. Of course, I wore the totally wrong shoes for the beach, but hey, the photos turned out great! There were a bunch of really funny things that happened at this wedding. First of all, everyone and their mother wanted to be in the room while Jen was getting ready and we ended up having to kick almost everyone out. Needless to say, some people just don't take a hint. Above are some looky loos who just couldn't miss the action peeking through the window! Photography wise, I was very excited by the strange light that came in through the window during their first dance and the bamboo thingies in the back of the restaurant while we waiting for the grand entrance. They were funky to photograph. You know I love shit like that! Jennifer's wedding was coordinated by Christina from Simply Modern Weddings. Christina did a great job! I just met her a month ago at another wedding and it was awesome to work with her again!

Debra and Nate's Wedding, August 26th 2006

Debra, Nate and I had a blast when we did their engagement shoot at the beach. I could not believe how comfortable they were in front of the camera. When I mentioned it they told me they had met at theater school. Well, that explains it.
Their ceremony was at the San Fernando Mission and the reception was at the Calimigos Equestrian Center. Other than the fact that my car keys fell out of my pocket in the limo when I was taking a photo of the bride and groom, I had a blast. (I wore a new pair of pants with low pockets, thank you Heather for going back and getting my car) Coordinated by "The Go To Gals", the band was great (Ugh, totally lost the card) but we loved having dinner with them and all of Deborah's "Sillhoutte" shots were rockin!

Brandy and Miles's Wedding 8.19.06

Brandy and Miles are my most together clients. They booked me over a year before their wedding and paid me in full 6 months in advance I'm just amazed at people this together. It's like they are another species. Though Brandy and Miles might be from another planet they are both total sweethearts and it was a pleasure to photograph their wedding. We had a great time at their engagment shoot (at Union Station) and we made a beautiful engagement book that their guests could sign.
The ceremony was at Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills which has just endless possibilities to shoot, and the reception was at the Sheraton Universal (which I can see from out my window). Though the bride and groom were a bit tardy to the reception, (a limo situation)...this did not even put a slight damper on the energy of the guests to party! Everyone danced like crazy and the DJ got everyone do to some pretty insane things (which I guess just adheres to the philososphy that the more people drink, the more fun they'll have!)

Michelle and Jefferson's Wedding 8.18.06

Michelle is the cousin of Lisa and Rob whose wedding I photographed last May. The wedding was at the Hyatt in Huntington Beach and it was gorgeous. I loved Michelle's dress (of course, I can't remember the designer's name to save my life...). This was a beautiful wedding and I was very into this HUGE water fountain they had between the Hotel and and the ceremony site. The pink dresses of the bridesmaids photographed amazingly well and Jefferson's two sons were too cute to be believed. Heather and I could not stop taking photos of them!
