Kathy and Glen's Wedding July 22nd, 2006

O.K. Can I just say that this was by far the hottest day I've ever experienced since I was in Varnassi, India. Kathy and Glen's wedding was in Valencia, CA and when Kathy said to me "I'm not doing any photos outside before the ceremony" - I was releaved. Regardless of the 112 degree temperature, this really turned out to be a beautiful wedding. Kathy just looked GORGEOUS and her attitude was cool as a cucumber. Luckily, the venue had these huge windows and I got to do lots of shots indoors with this incredible window light and airconditioning! O.K. I really sound whiney now but today was hot too. If you haven't seen the Al Gore documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" you must go - NOW! It makes this weather situation even creepier. I've never been so glad I bought my Prius. It's the least I can do. Anyway, back to the wedding: I was thrilled to be there and I'm thrilled with the photos as well. Check them out!

Melody and Chris's Wedding

Melody and Chris are friends of Lancianne and Aaron whose wedding I photograhed last July. The wedding took place at Presidio park in San Diego. I make any excuse to go to San Diego because I have friends who live in Encinitas who I like to visit. I also got to work with my old assistant Hillary who now lives down there (she was my 2nd shooter and she's awesome). Anyway, when Melody and Chris booked with me, they were going to have a 300 person wedding in the park. Several months later, they decided to have a 50 person wedding in the park (most couple's dream wedding!). It was really quite lovely there (although, a group of people decided to have a funeral right next to the wedding ceremony that morning!). Luckily, it was over by the time guests arrived but it's just one of those things that causes stress on the wedding day but that we can all laugh about later! Just remember that brides!
There was some really beautiful architecture at the park and this was one of those really small, intimate, low key weddings which I just love!

Kathy & Glen's Engagement Shoot

Kathy and Glen are getting married on July 22nd and I am honored to be their photographer. They wanted to do something funky with a city vibe for their engagement shoot so we hung out around Melrose Ave in Hollywood and captured some street life. In addition to all the photos we got to do some great window shopping as well! And yeah, the theme of this shoot was COLOR!
